Books, Readers and Beyond: #53 Finding Books Online

1. The three booksellers near Administrative offices: Barnes & Noble Booksellers, 3003 W. Holcombe, Houston, 77025 (www.barnesandnoble.com); B. Dalton Booksellers Bookstop/Alabama Theatre, 2922 S. Shepherd, Houston, 77098 (www.bn.com); Half Price Books, 2537 University Blvd., Houston 77005 (www.halfpricebooks.com). They all have an online presence. At all three you are able to limit your search by zip code. At Barnes & Noble and B. Dalton you can order items that are not in stock. At Half Price Books what is on their shelves is what you get.

2. I can get One for the money by Janet Evanovich at Barnes and Noble: paperback for $7.99 and used from $1.99 on up; compact disc for $9.95 and used from $5.28 on up. At B. Dalton the paperback is $7.99 and CD is $9.95. Not on the shelves at Half Price Books. I did not find this available online. I searched BookRags.com, Online Books Page, Netlibrary and HCPL digital media catalog. I was not allowed in The PDA Librarian -- access denied.

3. I tried out Cause of death by Patricia Cornwell. I did not enjoy the experience. After a while, my eyes were strained and my body was uncomfortable. Not as enjoyable as reading in bed.
